Concessions and Subsidies

If you hold an appropriate concession card you may be eligible for various concessions, rebates and subsidies as administered by the State Government.

Energy Concession Extension Scheme

This scheme includes the Energy Assistance Payment, the Dependent Child Rebate and the Air Conditioning Rebate.

Note: currently none of Source’s projects are located in a region that will qualify for the Air Conditioning Rebate.

To be eligible for any of the concessions in this scheme you will need one of the following cards to qualify:

  • Centrelink Health Care Card
  • Centrelink Pensioner Concessions Card
  • Veteran Affairs Gold Card
  • Centrelink Commonwealth Seniors Card
  • Veterans Affairs Commonwealth Seniors Card
  • Veteran Affairs Pensioner Concession Card

Account Establishment Fee Rebate

This is a one off rebate to reduce the costs associated with establishing an electricity account with Source. To be eligible you will need one of the following cards to qualify:

  • Centrelink Health Care Card
  • Centrelink Pensioner Concessions Card
  • Veteran Affairs Gold Card

Life support equipment electricity subsidy

The Life Support Equipment Electricity Subsidy Scheme provides assistance to help cover the electricity costs with operating life support equipment at home. To be eligible you must have medical authorisation from a treating physician and hold one of the following cards:

  • Centrelink Health Care Card
  • Centrelink Pensioner Concessions Card
  • Veterans Pensioner Concession Card
  • Veterans Affairs Gold Card

Thermoregulatory Dysfunction Energy Subsidy Scheme

Administered by the Office of State Revenue this subsidy enables customers who suffer from chronic medical conditions which prevent them from controlling their own body temperature reduce costs associated with air conditioning.
